Schoko and awe ...

How did it start? E admitting to me on the night train that she was attracted to Kaisha, while I was too wasted to understand.

"But I mean seriously," she said, "not just some girly crush. I’m just telling you now, so you know."

"But what if it was a guy, would you tell me then?"

"No. but it isn’t, hasn’t happened. And won’t. You really are everything I need, in that department. This is something different, totally different." And she looked away, but I could still see her reflection in the window as the city swept past us; she was almost too hot. She looked back at me and said with an open face, “we made out in the restroom at Chime tonight. Just before we all left.”

"Hmm," I replied, as I shoveled Schoko Bon after Schoko Bon into my mouth in a desperate attempt to sober up and fully grasp what she was telling me.

After I had finished brushing my teeth that night, I spent some time staring at my eyes in the bathroom mirror, counting flecks of color. I could see K in the room behind me, lying on her back on top of the bed covers, naked, one leg bent, phone in her hand.

"You want to read this?" She handed me the phone as I walked over to her.

“I wish I was squashed between you both,” I read out.

"So do I", K said. "We will have to take turns."

I looked at her and felt my eyes shine.

"Can we call her", she said. I nodded. "What shall we say?"

"Tell her to get in a cab," I replied "I’ll pay."

I left to put my contacts back in while we waited on her arrival. I didn't want to miss anything. We lay naked, the beginnings of lovemaking, so difficult to hold back. K chose this moment to continue with her confession.

"I’ve made love to E twice."

"You mean Kaisha?"

"What? J?"

"Uh? No, E? Forget ... forget it. What were you saying? When were you with her?"

"Monday and then Wednesday night. J are you alright?"

The doorbell rang.

"She knows you know," she added as she bounced out of the room.

As large a quantity of alcohol and a touch of drugs had levelled me out it wasn’t nearly as awkward or strange as it would have been if I was sober, or with plenty of time to wonder what was going to happen. E led her into the bedroom, where I lay, comfortably naked, and as K undressed wordlessly E lay beside me and placed her hand on my chest, staring at Kaisha ... I mean E. I don't know what I mean

I liked, "Tell her to get in a taxi" ... "I'll pay."

See, how enthousiastic men are, when there is something in it for them!
