on the beach ...

I am with E, on the beach. I turn my head to look at her; she is sitting to my right, eating an ice cream cone and staring out at the water. Her hair is tied back today, and I really notice for the first time how beautifully shaped her neck is. It almost makes me forget all about my ice cream, which consists of a scoop of coconut and a scoop of chocolate. I have been taking my time eating it, although I am going to have to hurry up because it has already begun to melt and run over my fingers. E has almost finished hers already and is now starting to munch gently on the edge of the wafer cone, still looking straight ahead.

Between us and the water there is a group of three children, who look about the same age so I guess they must be friends rather than a sister with her two brothers. They are combining their abilities to make a fairly impressive looking sand castle. At least they don’t need to worry about a tide coming in to flatten it just as it’s almost finished.

All around us there are families with picnics; there isn’t an empty beach chair to be seen.

I look behind me and see a white guy with long hair and red shorts, and a black girl with a stunningly sculptured body barely hidden beneath a white bikini, making out under the shower while a group of four, middle-aged women of various shapes and sizes wait in line to get under the water. I smile to myself while I wonder if maybe they are actually queuing to get under the shower with the long-haired guy, which would explain why he is taking his time with the girl he has in his arms at the moment.

“This is… strange, Jonas.” E looks at me, nodding slowly and pouting a little. She has big, dark sunglasses on today; ones which make her look a little like Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Seeing her like this is making me feel exceptionally horny. On her top lip there is a tiny spot of ice cream.

I lean forward and touch it with the end of my tongue, which makes her laugh. It was vanilla.
