Breakfast again at the American diner in the 5th, with Ken and Rachel and E. (E still wont let me use her name, so E it is.) Eggs and pancakes, and paid a little extra for the real syrup. Uhhh, wonderful.
And just what I needed. It was almost ruined (that’s right Ken) by the constant bickering E and I had to listen to from across the table though. Let’s just leave it at that.
This afternoon I wrote a considerable amount for what is at the moment imaginatively titled “book3” … filled a few gaps in my mind, closed a few gaps in the story. I’d love to stick some in this post, but that would be sooooo silly. It will be worked on and changed beyond recognition until it shines like a fake rolex, then maybe I will spoil the novel by dumping some of it online.
Nice to have people make nice comments, and as they are thin on the ground they make even more of an impact … so thank you to those who have left a comment. And please, feel free, if you are reading, to click on the followers tab. Poor Kit is looking a bit lonely over there.
A little drawing tonight … Ken and I were explaining to the girls the phenomenon of couples who sit in bars (or restaurants …. or hell, diners even) and don’t talk to each other. I don't mean explaining ... obviously they knew what we were talking about. Eventually. So, ok … maybe these couples are quite happy. But there is something frightening about it none the less. We may make a comic strip out of this, if one of us can think of anything amusing to write on it.
